If you’re concerned about the health of your battery, pop in and we can test it for you.

We check the health of the battery with every service. I have attached some of the regular readings that we see here in the workshop.

Apart from the obvious ‘non-start’ other common signs of a fault are as follows:

- car is slow to start or requires multiple attempts to start
- headlights or dash lights appear dim, when engine is idling
- stop/start stops working
- battery warning light comes on, and more…

How often should you replace the brake fluid?

This photo is an example of dirty contaminated fluid which is ‘overdue’ some attention.

On MOST vehicles it is advised to be replaced every 24 months.

Signs of bad brake fluid:

Spongey brake pedal - pedal feels soft or spongy when you apply the brakes

Discoloured fluid - if the fluid in the reservoir is dark and dirty.

Reduced braking power - if your vehicle takes longer to stop than usual

The loss of braking ability can lead to brake failure.
