MOT Preparation & Presentation in Marlborough, Wiltshire
At Axford Garage Services, we offer MOT preparation and presentation services for cars, 4x4s and light commercial vehicles in Marlborough and the surrounding areas.
Although we are temporarily unable to carry out MOT tests at our own premises, we can arrange for your vehicle to be presented at a trusted partner MOT testing station on your behalf, when booked alongside servicing or repair work at our garage.
We can also carry out pre-MOT checks to help identify potential issues before your vehicle goes for testing.
MOT Preparation - Class 4 and Class 7
An MOT can identify issues that may affect your vehicle's safety or roadworthiness. Our MOT preparation service involves checking key areas of your vehicle to help identify potential problems before it goes for its test.
We can check items including:
-
Brakes and brake components
-
Tyres, wheels and suspension
-
Steering and visible mechanical components
-
Lights, indicators and electrical equipment
-
Windscreen, wipers and washers
-
Exhaust and visible emissions-related components
Should we identify any problems, we will discuss these with you and provide a estimate for any necessary repairs before proceeding.
Please note that an MOT preparation check is not an MOT test and cannot guarantee that your vehicle will pass.
MOT Presentation Service - Class 4
We can arrange to present your vehicle for its MOT at a trusted partner garage as part of a combined servicing or repair booking.
Simply book your vehicle in with us for its service or any required remedial work, and we can arrange the MOT presentation at the same time. This allows us to take care of your vehicle's maintenance and repair requirements while also helping you keep your MOT up to date.
MOT Reminders
We offer a free annual MOT reminder service by SMS or email. If you would like to receive a reminder when your MOT is approaching its expiry date, simply let us know when booking your vehicle in.
Did you know? You can have your MOT carried out up to one month (minus one day) before its expiry date and retain the same renewal date.
What Does an MOT Test Cover?
An MOT is a legal safety and roadworthiness inspection to check that a vehicle meets the required standards at the time of testing.
It does not replace routine servicing and does not assess the general mechanical condition of the engine, clutch or gearbox. Road wheels are not removed during a standard MOT test.
You can find further information about MOT requirements and inspection standards in the official DVSA MOT Testing Guide.
You can also check your vehicle's MOT history, expiry date and previous test results using the official GOV.UK MOT history service.
